Gift Wraps

I love gifts! :) I get all excited; my curiosity runs wild :) Top that with appealing packaging, and an awesome presentation...I rip the packaging apart, look at it and go yasss!!! Now that's the good stuff. :)

But then came that September! Bam! God took a beautiful loved one home.

Peeps, God challenged my 'love for gifts'. Surely I love gifts, but wrapped like this? Seriously? Ahm...timing? I wanted to send it back. Re-wrap it, buy as many stamps and ship it away, as far away as possible.

But then He scrolled back through memory lane with me. Showed me some days when wholeheartedly, through sincere worship, I said YES to His will. That day when I sang:

For your glory, I will do anything…If you can use anything, Lord, you can use me…Whatever you’re doing in this season, don’t do it without me…and so on.

When we say YES with a genuine heart, God takes us at our word. He unfolds His will, gift by gift.
Of course, sometimes, in a gift wrap that you are shocked by! Wrong colour, size, packaging; at a seemingly wrong timing; in a seemingly weird path.

But don't worry my peeps. :) As it was for me in my weakness, "...[His] Grace is sufficient for you..." (2 Cor. 12:9) and even the "...foolishness of God is wiser than men..." (1 Cor. 1:25).

The Lord has a way of maturing His Vessels through gifts, some wrapped as exciting acquisitions, some jolly roles. And then those. Those gifts wrapped as not-so-welcomed predicaments, tests and even valleys.
"The purpose of these troubles is to test your faith as fire tests how genuine gold is. Your faith is more precious than gold, and by passing the test, it gives praise, glory, and honor to God..."
This is what that YES all boils down to: availing yourself to His path for your life, no matter which gift wrap He sees fit. Are you willing to do that?

Just Smile

The only words I have for you today are: just smile

Life is hard, I know. Some things aren't right, believe me, I know. Some days all I can do is smile. Immense myself in the company of those I love, and just smile.

In spite of what is happening, somebody deserves your smile. In fact, according to the path God has for you today, someone is in waiting to be blessed by your smile, little did you know. To you, you're just heading to the bank; but to someone else, you are the chap/or young lady whose smile brightened their day!

Just smile. Maybe eventually the other person's smile will make your heart smile, until your smile grows wider and wider.

It is a simple gesture, yet powerful in its own right.

Just smile.

Try it. Let me know if you regret it. ♥

Borrowed.

Popularity Votes

Today I share a quote from my wise husband.

We are presently in the midst of decision-making, which has caused quite a bit of stir around us. One evening, as we had a heart-to heart discussion about the varied reactions, he looked at me and said "The will of God is not always popular, but it is always right."

Sometimes too often the world develops pre-conceived notions of what ought to happen. Other times people just jump on to a particular bandwagon. In both instances, leaving little, if any, room to hear from the Lord His will concerning the situation or decision at hand. But the good book says that we should not lean on our own understanding, including those popularity votes. In all things we should go with the leading of the Lord.

I smiled at the Lord in my lord. I thought how fitting for our present situation, and how complementary to my last post. Its no wonder he's my husband; he completes me. :)

a World of Ideals

That moment when you go "*sigh* if only things were different!!! If only I had more money, got a promotion, a different job, a different background, different car, different family structure, graduated earlier, different this, different that...Then maybe things would be better off?!"

The world has its 'perfect ideals' of how your life ought to be.

I have learnt, however, that the world's ideal life is not necessarily parallel to God's custom-fit life He has designed for you, and only you.

The world may paint your current situation as unfortunate, and you may be pressured to feel you are either failing or lacking. But know that:

What God has for you and your family is for y'all, and only y'all.
What God has blessed you with shall work for you, and only you, unto His perfect will concerning your life.

God is your strength and power: and He makes your way perfect (2 Samuels 22:33)...not slapdash, neither in any thoughtless manner, but unto PERFECT methods, paths, outcomes and purpose.

Don't watch no face. Don't be dampened by how your life is not fitting this ideal life. Be encouraged that the perfect life God has custom-made for you is nothing compared to the ideal life the world has factory-made for you.

Love ♥

What He Sees

Although others may see the worst in you -Jesus sees everything beautiful that you were, everything beautiful that you are, and everything beautiful that you will be, and then some...

Laughing @ oneself: good food for the soul

LOL: Everybody knows that 75 runs from Papine to HWT right? Well this morning I happily ran into a 75 yellow bus @ HWT Bus Park, feeling so glad there was noo line & that I was gonna ride 2 work in style on an a/c Govnt-provided bus.

Ms chic went from seat to seat, pickin, choosin & refusin until ahh i was seated. I backed out my reading material and settled in nicely. This is the life! Started my reading when my mind wandered as usual, 'how comes not even 1 JC nor Ardenne student not on d bus? It was strangely empty'

I looked aroun agen jus to double chek; OH MY JOLLIES!!! I may be on the wrong bus!!! I ran quickly from the middle seat I had taken, not forgetting my lunchkit asked the driva in the most pitiful manner "driva, dis bus not going Papine?" The driva said "Papine???" DWL...'poor thing' he must have been thinking as he gave me back my fare & told me i need to take a 900. DWL. Ah so ole mi be?

Where thou is our faith, if even the faith of a ‘pet dog’?

smh* Permanent Temp...Jesus u no easy u kno, I’m standing in awe of you even more ♥
The other day my mind drifted thinking lawd Jesus how it ago work afta this contract up, a how it ago go? Then a gentle voice wah mek mi feel soo sooo shame reminded me how He provided the last time in a timely manner. I felt so ashamed it’s not funny.
I think it was two days before the end of that second of four contracts thus far that I got a call to start working in office the next Monday. Imagine God...And He is still doing it and I am now on the 4th contract.
Jesus, help us to forever keep our minds on you. If we confess your omnipotence and omniscience why then do we doubt that you will come through for us? That ole devil maybe? He fills our heads deceitfully with these lies upon lies, and our flesh being gullible accepts at times.
But where thou is our faith, if even the faith of a ‘pet dog’, hoping he will get but even the crumbs from his master’s table? Look at the birds and fishes how they toil not. If God has provided for them why then wouldn’t He provide for us, His most precious creation? Jesus, help us to take therefore no thought for the morrow; it’s a disease I tell you.
But lets not fool ourselves into blaming flesh either. Well I speak for myself, but how dare me, after the million and one times that Jesus has come through for me, even in situations that I knew not of but yet He delivered me, and still I find room to doubt? I shud put up a sign, ‘no room available’. There is no room for doubt or lack of faith available in this place with my Lord. For truly… ♫♪ My life is not my own, to you I belong ♪♫…

Creator or Creations?

Note to Self: "I must put my Hope in the Creator and not in the creations."

So many big moves to be made at SUCH A TIME AS THIS.

I am going crazy but still believing 'My peace I leave with you... MY Strong Deliverer make a way through my cloudy path'

If He ordained this then all pieces of the puzzle should fall into place as He pleases.

A Strong Woman vs. A Woman Of Strength by Luke Easter

These are not my original thoughts, but i found it uplifting and thought I would share. What are your thoughts?

A strong woman works out every day,
Pride in her appearance she portrays,
But a woman of strength kneels to pray,
Keeping her soul in shape, God leading the way.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything,

Looking forward to challenges each day will bring,
Women of strength show courage in the midst of fear,
Knowing triumph through faith because the Lord is near.

Strong women won't let anyone get the best of them,

So skilled in defense even if they have to pretend,
Yet a woman of strength gives her best to everyone,
Being anointed with divine blood from the only begotten Son.

A strong woman relies on the physical attributes making her tough,

In her search for power and money she will never have enough,
A woman of strength understands that it’s not about material stuff,
Knowing that before becoming a diamond first she’ll be in the rough.

A strong woman sometimes disguises her feelings shadowed by clouds,

Unhinged when challenged on her policy becoming boisterous and loud,
A woman of strength concerns herself not with judgment from others,
And will not let business interfere with commitments as a wife and mother.

A strong woman is easily impatient back and forth she will begin to pace,

Counting on her holier than thou attitude instead of depending on faith,
A woman of strength is assured trust in God will always carry her through,
And at the Creator’s appointed time she’ll receive all that is justly due.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same for tomorrow,

Refusing to take time looking back with reverence and Godly sorrow,
The woman of strength realizes life's mistakes no matter how slim,
While thanking God for the blessings as she capitalizes on them.

A strong woman walks head first with no doubt in her mind,

Again, no matter what, she’ll not make this mistake a second time,
But a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls,
So when a situation arises again, she’s not afraid to answer the call.

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face,

Always doing whatever it takes to finish, seeking only first place,
The woman of strength competes with an emotional sense of grace,
Understanding it’s more important to run a Holy Spirit filled race.

A strong woman has faith that for the journey she’ll have enough,

No matter how uneven the terrain or roads being rocky and rough,
A woman of strength knows it’s in the journey she will become strong,
And the love of God is forever with her, no matter how difficult or long.

A strong woman when uninformed thinks that she is being mistreated,

In the end her physical attributes fail causing doubt to become seeded,
A woman of strength will compromise as a little give and take is needed,
Why? Because a lesson not learned the first time is soon to be repeated.

Ladies! Philippians 4: 6, start everyday with supplication & prayer,

Trust and believe that God will always get you from here to there,
And should your giant steps seem to be moving only inch by inch,
The journey is not as A Strong Woman but A Woman Of Strength.
